“Sigh……”

I wonder how many times I’ve sighed today. A sense of weariness overtakes my body as a sigh leaks out involuntarily.

The curious eyes of the people around me keep staring. There’s no escape. I kept walking, drooping, until I found myself standing in front of the warehouse door.

I knew that the Ogasawara sisters were going to attract a lot of attention because of the plan, so I would have to be very careful when training them in the warehouse.

But it turned out that I had to be wary in a different way.

It wasn’t the Ogasawara sisters who were in the spotlight, but me. In other words, there was a greater chance that my actions would be monitored.

With all the unexpected attention, and with rumors about me dating my brother, I didn’t have to be so careful bringing Makoto and the little bitch into the warehouse.

Instead, I had to pay attention to the idiots who were trying to investigate me.

The warehouse has only one doorway, and not a single window. The structure is so sturdy that it’s not easy to make any kind of peephole.

In other words, unless you can unlock the door, it’s impossible to get inside.

However, the key to the door that I have was given to me by the school. This means that my key is a duplicate key, and there is a parent key in the staff room. As long as the parent key exists, there’s always a small risk.

And in order to install a new lock, the school has to be notified and approve.

However, no one would be crazy enough to steal the key from the staff room.

In conclusion, as long as you are inside the warehouse, there is not much to worry about.

“Ah, my castle…..”

As I opened the door and entered the room, the musty smell that hit my nose gave me a calming sense of nostalgia.

My castle. My very own castle. I didn’t have a place in the whole school, but this here was my place. As long as I was here, there would be no unnecessary disturbances.

I flipped the switch next to the entrance and turned on the warehouse lights. Then I closed the door and locked it.

No one would disturb me now. I could finally calm down.

I walked unsteadily to the bed and collapsed.

“What a nostalgic smell……”

As I pressed my face against the bed sheets, I could smell a faint sweet scent.

It was mostly Makoto’s scent, but there was another sweet scent mixed in with it.

It was a smell I had smelled many times. There was no way I could forget it.

The owner of that scent. The last time I used this bed was when I came here with Satonaka.

Satonaka never smiled. She always had the eyes of a dead fish. And she was always chasing after my back.

But Satonaka started smiling so much. She was able to communicate her intentions clearly.

Really…. She’s grown into a fine woman.

In the two years that we didn’t have contact, she must have experienced a lot.

Before, she was only able to chase after me, but now she learned to move forward with her own two feet.

“If Satonaka were here, she would have handled this situation well…….”

Satonaka’s abilities were high to begin with. No matter what she was asked to do, she did it better than anyone else. However, she had an unusual dislike of showing off her capabilities.

It was probably due to bullying. She didn’t like to stand out so much that she didn’t even buy any casual wear. If she stood out, she would be bullied. Therefore, she should kill her individuality, to avoid being noticed and to live a quiet and safe life. I guess that’s what she thought.

As for me, I didn’t like that very much. If you are born with superior abilities, you should use those abilities to stand above others. If you have the ability to do so, then you should do so.

That’s why I trained her so thoroughly. I trained her to be unafraid to go out in public, mainly through exposure.

As a result, Satonaka’s abilities were blossoming by the second.

Satonaka’s most terrifying ability is the ability to capture people’s hearts.

She has a straightforward personality. Moreover, she can see through the pain in other people’s hearts and easily figure out what they’re thinking.

She listens to their problems, and instead of providing solutions, she responds with kindness.

Those who are troubled are not looking for answers. It’s because they already know the answer that they are suffering.

What they need is someone to listen. Those who are troubled can realize the true nature of their problems by talking it out with those who listen. Then all they have to do is step out on their own. But it is human nature to be unable to do so.

It is important to give a light push to such people. Satonaka was extremely good at this.

She’s the kind of person who was born to stand on top of others. And yet she choses to chase after my back.

“Damn, I’m out of my mind. Why did I call out her name? I decided to never see her again.…”

I told myself that I contacted her just to gather information on the little bitch.

It’s true that there was no one else I could trust. But that wasn’t the only reason.

You just wanted to see her, right? Right? But you were just making excuses and trying to avoid your true feelings.

“You’ve really become a good woman. Damn, I shouldn’t have met up with you again……”

In an instant, Satonaka understood how sensitive and troublesome Makoto was. And then, again, in an instant, she won her over.

It’s a frighteningly tremendous ability. How many months do you think it took me to get Makoto to open up to me? Seeing her do instantly, I was convinced that I had made the right decision.

Satonaka will become no good if she sticks around me. She only needed me until her abilities blossomed and she was ready to step out. After that, I realized, I would just get in her way.

That’s what I thought when I saw her desperately trying to stand up to me, despite her superior ability to me.

So, even if I hadn’t been kicked out of my parents’ house, I would have disappeared from her sight.

“I’ll never rely on her again. The next time I see her, I have to push her away so thoroughly that she’ll hate me. It’s my fault for contacting her when I’d already decided I’d never see her again.”

I turned over on the bed and lay on my back, staring at the ceiling and muttering to myself.

“That ring…. If you smiled after I gave you that ring, I was going to tell you to be my meat toilet for the rest of my life. But from the moment we met till the moment we parted, you never smiled.”

Why didn’t she ever smile? I don’t know. But the first time I saw her after two years, she was smiling.

That’s the answer, isn’t it? If I’m not around, she can shine.

“Makoto though, she needs me. Makoto doesn’t usually smile, but she does when she’s with me. Hey Satonaka, Makoto smiles in front of me…..”

Makoto can’t live without me. Someone has to fill the gaping hole in Makoto’s heart. And I’m the only one who can close that hole.

And because Makoto’s an idiot, she’ll step forward even if she knows that she’ll fall.

She could be a lot more capable than Satonaka, but she’s so messed up inside.

If someone doesn’t stand by her side and support her, she’ll just keep going, even if it’s down the wrong path. That’s Makoto.

Satonaka, if you had been a little stupider and a little weaker, there would have been a place for me, I’m sure.

“Okay, that’s enough whining for now. I don’t have time to be depressed. I need to gather information about Sugiura.”

I jumped out of bed, and started to walk out of the warehouse.

It’s good to vent once in a while. Because of it, I’m feeling refreshed.

I was supposed to be outside of the warehouse, but for some reason I was still inside, sitting on the couch. To my right sits Makoto, and to my left sits the little bitch. The two of them are hugging my arms.

“Wow! It’s so spacious, there’s a big bed, a refrigerator, and a washing machine! And it’s air-conditioned, so it’s more comfortable than big brother’s apartment! The only problem is that it smells a little musty…….”

The little bitch is hugging my left arm and looking around with shining eyes.

The little bitch seems to have come running right after school, and met up with Makoto, who was waiting at the start of animal path in the woods behind the warehouse.

It looked like an old warehouse, but she was surprised to find that it was well-equipped inside and was in a good mood from the moment she entered.

“Yeah!”

Makoto, her cheeks puffed out, replies curtly to the excited little bitch’s words.

Makoto, who’s been hugging my right arm, has been in a bad mood since she entered the warehouse.

At first, I thought she was upset about being disturbed by the little bitch, but she was acting strange.

I thought maybe she was in a bad mood because she heard the rumors about Sugiura, but that didn’t seem right either.

Because on the table in front of me are documents about Sugiura.

And it was Makoto who prepared the documents.

According to Makoto, she had been researching Sugiura for quite some time. What’s more, the document was easy to read.

It was clear and concise, which showed just how good Makoto was at information processing.

The fact that she has been able to maintain her high grades, even though she’s always asleep in class and doesn’t study much, is due to her high fundamental ability.

I tend to underestimate Makoto because of her usual stupidity, but I really shouldn’t underestimate her.

And if you look at the data, it’s obvious that Sugiura has a tendency to lie. In other words, it would be strange for Makoto to be in a bad mood if she heard rumors about me and Sugiura.

So, is it a rumor about my brother? Did she hear a rumor that my brother and I are dating and that’s why she’s so upset?

She would know how much of a lie that is. Makoto knows firsthand how much I like women.

“Hey Makoto, why are you in such a bad mood? You know that everything you hear in school is crap, right?”

I called out to Makoto, who puffed out her cheeks and turned her face away from me. But there was no reply.

What the hell is that? Is it that boring over here?

Makoto’s bad mood started when I was about to leave the warehouse. When I unlocked the door to leave the warehouse, Makoto was standing in front of the door. Her cheeks were already puffed up and she had teary eyes.

According to the little bitch who was with her, she was in a good mood until we arrived at the warehouse. But the moment I unlocked the door and came out, she was in a bad mood.

Then it had nothing to do with gossip. If she became cranky the moment she saw me, then she might have sensed something about me.

But I hadn’t done anything since I entered the warehouse, except lying down on the bed. I’m sure nothing has changed since I entered the warehouse.

“Hey Makoto, if you don’t say anything, we won’t understand. Big brother seems to be in trouble, and you need to tell him what’s wrong so he can understand, okay?

The little bitch asks Makoto with lowered eyebrows while hugging my arm.

It seems that the little bitch is also confused. Makoto doesn’t usually show this level of unhappiness in public. And even more so when it’s in front of me.

I guess that shows how angry she really is.

“Satonaka-senpai……”

I couldn’t help but shudder at the words that were muttered.

“I knew it…..”

When Makoto muttered this and looked at me, her eyes were filled with blatant jealousy.

Because of those tremendously intimidating tear-filled eyes, I felt a cold sweat run down my back.

Why did Satonaka’s name come up? Sure, I was thinking about Satonaka, but how did she know about it?

Is she psychic? I’ve always thought that she had a lot of unique abilities, but did she finally awaken supernatural powers?

“When I arrived at the warehouse, the door was locked, so I assumed Aoi-san hadn’t arrived yet.”

Makoto sqeezes my right arm, staring straight at me as she speaks. Her voice was quiet, but it contained an unusual weight.

In fact, the little bitch hugging my left arm deflated. Usually, the little bitch is pretty cheeky, but that’s only because she knows Makoto treats her especially nice. If Makoto gets serious, the little bitch has no chance.

The tiny and trembling little bitch looked like a puppy drooping its ears after being scolded by its owner.

“But Aoi-san was inside. He was in there, but he locked the door. He’s never locked the door when he knew I was coming before.”

“Ah, no, here’s the thing….”

“We lock the door because there are some things we don’t want to be seen or heard. But that’s not true for Aoi-san. He always put me first, and never tried to keep secrets from me. That’s why he never locked the door when he knew I was coming. All in order to open my heart, right?”

The words were said eloquently, without hesitation. The lack of pause really shows that Makoto has no doubts.

You’re sure of it? You are confident that I was thinking about Satonaka? I locked the door of the warehouse. That’s all I did.

“The ring that Satonaka-senpai had. On the back of that ring, there were initials and letters engraved: “A to A“, from Aoi to Akira. And “Family“. A warm family, that’s what Aoi-san sincerely wants. I handed those words to Satonaka-senpai. I’m pretty sure I understand what it means.”

When she pointed out the ring, I couldn’t help but avert my gaze from Makoto.

As far as I know, Satonaka has only shown the ring to Makoto once. The first time Makoto and Satonaka met in my room, Satonaka tried to give it to Makoto to calm her down when she was about to go out of control.

Makoto didn’t take it, but that’s when she saw the ring.

“I know how important that ring is to Satonaka-senpai. But she tried to give that ring to me. Honestly, at that time, I was so angry that my gut felt like it was boiling. I thought, ‘How could she give away such an important thing so carelessly?’ But that was just jealousy.”

Perhaps realizing from the look on my face, Makoto poked at the exact memory I was remembering.

At that time, Makoto was stunned. And in the end, Satonaka softened her up. But I didn’t expect her to be angry. I didn’t get the slightest hint that she was.

“I knew I couldn’t win. I knew I couldn’t defeat this person. The person that admitted that I was Aoi-san’s girlfriend. The person that wanted to entrust me with the ring that was more important than her life. The person that chose Aoi-san’s happiness over her own…. There’s no way I can win against a person like that.”

Makoto stared straight at me, large tears overflowing from her eyes.

“I was in a bad mood because I’m so pathetic. The moment I realized that the door was locked and that Aoi-san was thinking about Satonaka-senpai, I got jealous because I’m so pitiful.

I’m not worthy of Aoi-san, but Satona–“

“You’re wrong!”

I grabbed Makoto’s shoulders with my right hand and forcefully pulled her towards me as she tried to pull away from me with a trembling voice, overflowing tears, and a twitching smile.

“Don’t think too much! You’re my personal slave. If you have time to worry about stupid things, you should be shaking your hips instead.”

I put my right hand that was gripping Makoto’s shoulder behind her back and hugged her tightly.

Makoto buried her face in my chest and cried with a stifled voice. My heart nearly broke.

It’s true that I can’t forget Satonaka. But she doesn’t need me. In fact, she would be worse off if she stayed with me.

“You belong with me. If you try to escape, I won’t let you go, so stop thinking about stupid things.”

At my words, Makoto began to cry loudly. She cried like a child.

I wondered if what I said to Makoto was really meant for her. No, it was something I was saying to myself.

The only place I belong is next to Makoto. If I lose Makoto now, I will lose my place. That’s what I’m afraid of.

“You’re so kind, you always think of Makoto first! That’s why I’m becoming more and more selfish! I want to be like Satonaka-senpai! I want to be strong and cool! I want to be a strong and cool girl, but it’s Aoi-san’s fault that Makoto is no good!”

Makoto hits my chest as she sobs hoarsely in my embrace.

Seeing her act like a spoiled child, I felt relieved.

Yes, you’re an idiot. You’re awkward and clumsy and you’re a pain in the ass.

“I don’t want you to be my strong and cool slave. You deserve to be tricked into falling for me, idiot.”

Satonaka is too strong. She’s too bright for me now.

With her, I would have to face how weak and fragile I am.

She can shine without me, or rather, she shines because I’m not around her.

That’s why I chose Makoto, who can’t shine without me.

I’m sure that Makoto will always need me.

“Um…”

I turned my gaze to the voice that came from next to me and saw the little bitch hugging my left arm, looking up at me with a scowl.

“If you’re going to make out, could you do it in private please? Also, where do you want me to direct my jealousy?”

Makoto, who had been burying her face in my chest, quickly pulled away after hearing the nonchalant tone. She turned away and fixed her disheveled uniform, her ears turning bright red.

I had completely forgotten about the existence of the little bitch. Makoto must have forgotten too.

“It seems that the two of you are having a lot of fun, but I don’t know any Satonaka-senpai. I’m completely out of the loop. I was told to come here for training, so I ran here as fast as I could, and this is what I got. It’s okay, though. I know I’m the lowest in the pecking order. But I’d like to say one thing.”

Makoto shivered nervously at the little bitch’s oddly calm tone.

Makoto, who had always put her sister first in everything she did, had completely forgotten about her. For Makoto, Satonaka must be that big of a deal.

“Who was it that said, “Give me three days!”? Who said I would be corrupted in just three days? So annoying! I don’t care how good of a woman Satonaka-senpai is! Where’s my training?”

I couldn’t say anything back to the howling little bitch.

No, uh, really, I’m sorry.
